Night shot – 198

January 8, 2011

We had a very strange snow storm yesterday. Totals from around the state ranged from 3-15 inches. Now Connecticut is not that big a state  to have that sort of range. We were in the middle with 7-8 inches. My son had snow day although it did not snow where we are in earnest until early afternoon. I took the opportunity to take some photos. I may be posting more.

Beautiful capture. The glow of the lamp is perfect in your night shot.

It does look like the lamp-post in Narnia!

I love snow days but alas, we haven’t had one yet this year. We usually only manage to get one or two…

I love gas lamps. I was thinking yesterday how I need to go out and photograph them, but it’s too cold (am in NYC)! Lovely shot. Just added you to my Reader. Looking forward to following your blog.

My first thought was, “This cold be the cover for ‘The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.'” And it seems I’m not the only one to have thought of it!

Lovely winter scene. Isn’t it amazing how great it looks in a photo and how awful it looks when we have to drive in it?!

Love the effect of the flash on the falling snowflakes. Neat lamp post also.
