Nautical – 195
January 31, 2011
I took this in July of 2010. We have had more then 50 inches of snow so far this winter. There is a snow storm forecast for tomorrow and an ice storm for Wednesday. I felt the need for a look back at warmer times. This is a harbor at Newport RI. It was warm and it was nice. As I look at the mounds of snow outside, I forget how much we complained about how hot it was this past summer. I guess nature puts everything in balance.

so nice to see something warm! Lovely blues in this and nice composition. I will take heat over cold ANY DAY!
very beautiful, the image underlines what you have told. The picture together with the vorder is very well done, I like it!
It could be a painting. This is what it looks like around here.
A wonderful theme shot Deena!
Thanks for the warm image…hope the storm misses you.
So peaceful and serene! The perfect summer image! We are bracing here in northern Illinois, too.
I saw where Illinois had blizzard storm warnings. Stay warm, dry and safe.
I ahve to admit that I have never complained of heat in the summer-I always remember winter’s chill too well! But, yes, as your fellow resident of the frozen northeast, I truly appreciate your reminder of the glories of summer. Fine compostion, and the soft framing works so well with the clouds.
Hi Deena – Thanks for checking out my blog and all of the comments!
Beautiful image with good composition and the framing makes it even better.
Just beautiful and I love that frame!
Beautiful–a good reminder of warmer days to come!
Beautiful image to remind us that Spring is coming!!
Love Newport Deena, I used to have to go once a month for work. You’ve captured it well!
